Hey ladies, so I went to my gynaecologist on Thursday, under the impression it would just be a chat that goes no where, and left after having the Decapeptyl injection to put my body into menopause and HRT - tibolone, I also have the coil which is to stay in... I’m 26, and now that ive processed everything, I’m freaking out 😖
What should I expect to happen to my body? My skin? Are my eggs going to be useable in the future? I have so many question and when she asked at the time if I had any, I said no..
so I’m seeing my GP on Friday and I’m going to sit and have a chat with her about everything. Until then, I feel sick with worry, about what to expect, my mother is young and isn’t in menopause yet, so I don’t have anyone to talk to about it..
if anyone had any POSITIVE advice, any herbal treatments, creams etc I can use etc, it would be highly appreciated.
Also, any other young ladies out there going through the same thing? How did you cope with the shock of it all?

I am taking the same medication I'm 31 and I wasn't pleased about it but it has worked wonders for my condition. The reason I'm taking it is to prep me for ivf so I know it wont hurt my eggs and just shrinks any endo about.
I suffered alot at first it feels like the first day of your period, without the blood so I got migraines, it has worn off now. I did have a little pain in the pelvis when it first started but I think it was endo shrinking and scar tissue being exposed. I really struggled to sleep at first but I wasn't taking tibolone for the first three months of the treatment, I found it did help after.
I don't know if it in my mind but my skins gone a little slack, never avoided the sun before and I smoke so these could be contributing factors but crows feet have definitely appeared. I get hormone spots occasionally the ones that never wana pop and just sit there red and sore, occasional though.
I have put on weight but once again haven't really done anything to avoid it so it might not be the case for you. My periods stopped straight away but I only have one ovary due to previous ops, so expect your period to stop within the first two/three months.
I did the same as you, went in for a chat came out in the menopause lol,i also do the thing where I forget to ask my consultant questions.
Medication effects everyone differently. I didn't have hrt for the first month, The first few weeks were a bit rough ill be honest hormonal symptoms dialled up to 10. After that I had mild hot flushes but it really wasn't a bother. After that it was honestly fine. Im still in pain but it's from a giant cyst and physical damage rather than hormonal issues.
I can't speak about fertility but they use those injections to aid with ivf so it can't be that bad. Noticed nothing negative about my skin though, still greasy lol.
I have only been on it for 3 months but I've had no weight gain, and my skin, mood and everything else is normal, its just odd to have no monthly cycle.
Everyones mileage may vary but wouldn't worry too much. Hope that helps.
Hi Nicole, I'm also 26 and on the injections. My husband and I were also quite shocked. I had surgery and still they have put me on the injections and tibilone. I'm getting really bad headaches and struggling to sleep. Also the hot flushes are driving me crazy. The plan is for me to have this treatment for six months then have a coil. I hope you feel better soon. X
Hey, I’m 20 and going through menopause on zoladex so I’m even younger haha. It was scary at first, being so young and going through temporary menopause. I have a lot of hot flushes and I suffer with bad acne which I never got even during puberty. The worse thing for me has to be I’ve lost control of my bladder but that’s more of a side effect of zoladex but that deffo makes me feel like a granny (It’s probably very rare this happens, I’m just unlucky)
One good thing was my sex drive hasn’t decreased 😂 it’s probably increased tbf haha. It’s also stopped my periods so that’s a bonus as they are horrendous.
My boyfriend has helped me a lot even though I only started seeing him a few months ago but he was immediately understanding about endometriosis and my treatment. I’ve had hot flushes in front of him which was embarrassing at first but he never bothered, just offers me a cold towel instead.
Sorry it’s long, just wanted you to know you’re not alone but everyone is different, some have side effects, some don’t. xxxxx
