I have endometriosis adhesions, tethering in my Douglas of pouch and multiple endometrial cysts on my ovaries and was told I will need a bigger operation after my lapaprascopy. Has anyone had a bigger op? What do I expect?

Anyone who has had surgery for endo and cysts?
Hey, I had my lap 2 wks ago- cysts removed from both ovaries, ovaries freed, adhesions and endo removed from bowel.... it ended up being quite a long op nearly 8hrs but I am recovering well. I stayed in hospital 2 nights, u have to take it easy after wards.
I feel fine now but still get some pain now&again but that should stop with time.
Good luck with ur lap.
Hi,
I had what some gynaes have called a 'bigger op' - big cyst removed, some reconstruction of the affected ovary, lots of work to free up my colon from all the adhesions.
The whole thing was way better than I had expected. I was bruised and bloated for about a month afterwards, but was able to be up and about after about a week (although taking my time/sticking to gentle activities).
Pain was manageable on codeine and paracetamol, and almost gone after a few days. My endo pain was much, much better after the surgery and I managed to get pregnant (something which I had almost given up hope on).
Remember that it is a big surgery and that your body needs time to heal - they say 3 months to be completely healed.
