Bloating/Pain 5 weeks after laparoscopy

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Got diagnosed after 11 years with pain, had a lap 5 weeks ago with excision of lesions from rectovaginal area (Stage 3 endo). I'm still struggling with a lot of pain though, and the bloating isn't improving very much - is this normal? What should I do to recover better? Some days I feel better ands some days feel like major setbacks again. Hurts to poop and there's like a burning/dull ache sensation in lower abdomen. Thank you!!

It probably took me around 10 wks to feel like I was starting to pick up. I was diagnosed and had deep endometriosis excision in November. It hurt to use the loo for about 6-7 weeks afterwards. It gradually got better. My surgeon said it takes 4 Mths to feel the full benefits. I'm about that now. I feel stronger I only get discomfort going to the loo on my period week. I've just had a period with controllable pain (a miracle!!). I was pretty down around the 5 or 6 week mark as I thought I'd be feeling better and like you it was up and down with good and bad days. Stick with it. It will get better, the good days increase. I still think I'm bloated but it could be swelling. I heard your womb hates being disturbed and can take 6 mths to settle. But I'm able to exercise again properly so hoping that will help. All the best for a successful recovery :)

Wow, thank you SO MUCH for this. It really helps for me to hear from someone else who had a similar experience. I also had deep excision, too. I was so confused when my doctor said I should recover nicely in a month....

Were there any remedies/healing that helped you in the process? Thank you!!

Sorry for the delayed response. Nothing special. Mint tea for the gas bloating. Went for walks. Even on a bad day I'd try for a short walk. Just listen to your body. About 6wks post op I started a very gentle Pilates work out on YouTube by fitness blender. It's designed for post abdominal surgery. Depends if Pilates is your thing. I find it helps my back pain.

Btw during my 5 wk follow up with my surgeon he greeted me with "all recovered now?" I think I looked at him like he was mad!

So sorry for the late response, too! For some reason I didn't get a notification. Thank you so much for this! Haha I would have looked at him like he was mad, too.
