Had awful periods from about 14 and thankfully I was put on the pill straightaway. Didn't help with reducing the pain, but ended up taking back to back packs so just had fewer periods. Fine.
Few years down the line, and a few missed pills later I decide to have the implant (ain't no babies for me thank you). The few periods I was having were getting me down and so I wanted something that would keep them away longer. Discussed my symptoms and my GP went "you know what I think you've got right?" And I had ideas due to Dr Google. So there's a mutual agreement between me and my doctor I have endo and the implant is a great way to manage it. May get spotting but should be fine.
First six months NOTHING. Not a single spot. I thought with my history it would be a six month period, but no, I was period free for a whole year. It was glorious. However over the past year and a half I have been getting more and more blood. Started at a small amount of brown discharge to today where it is full blown scene out of Carrie down there.
I have become so fatigued I can barely function and so spotty which I never have been before. My question is:
Does anyone else who has endo have experience with the implant?! I have 8 months to go and like this is not ok Hun.
Cursory mention that I have had bloods take and doctors appointment next week so I am seeking medical assistance!
Not short or sweet but thanks for reading!

Hello there! Well my situation is so similar! Had my first period at 14, extremely painful and heavy bleeding, but could not get any help and was told it was normal.
Got my implant last September,I'm 29 now, it was not bad for the first three months, but after that I started bleeding so heavily with killing cramps and my GP told me to take provera pills and it made things worse! Got diagnosed with endo few weeks ago and it turned out that it was the reason behind all that mess and bleeding i had.
Wishing you luck in your coming appointment 🤞
xx
So yeah! I think there's a connection between the contraceptive implant and endo and this breakthrough bleeding.
Hello so I have not yet had my diagnosis but this is all very familiar!
I started periods at 11, very heavy and just awful from the beginning so doc tried mefenamic acid (did nothing) so put me on the combined pill at 14, withdrawal bleeds were still hell so swapped me to the mini pill to just stop periods (wonderful!) as I got a bit older I would be more forgetful to take it and wasn’t ready for any little accidents! So onto the implant I went which continued to manage everything for about 2 and a half years and then problems started creeping in with starting to bleed old blood for weeks on end and getting sharp pains, had a new one put in after the 3 years were up and same issues continued. Doc then put me back on the pill with the implant which stopped bleeding within a day.
I then hated the idea of being on that much hormone and a little accident would have been welcome at that time so decided to have the implant removed and stick with my awful pill taking. Not had any further issues with bleeding but over the past few months I’ve had lots of issues with pelvic/back/leg pain and some bowel issues.
My post doesn’t really help at all and isn’t short and sweet either! 😅😅
