6 months waiting for a laproscopy. Feel completely let down and fed up.

Went to see a gynaecologist following going to the doctors for irregular periods and weight loss becoming increasingly difficult. A 5cm Dermoid cyst was found on my right ovary and I was told I’d been put on the waiting list to have it removed and there was a risk I would loose my ovary. I was also diagnosed with PCOS and possible Endometriosis but would wait till they got in there with the operation. The PCOS wasn’t really addressed and when I asked about it the response was taking the cyst out then the PCOS can be looked out. I had my pre op a month after arranging the operation. 6 months down the line, still no operation. I’ve rang the consultants secretary 3 times now. 2 occasions, 2 voicemails left and no response I managed to get through the 3rd time about a week ago to be told ‘everyone has been waiting a long time’. I asked her to check the list and she did say I’d been waiting a long long time. But still couldn’t tell me when my op would be. I’ve been back to the doctors twice now due to being in a lot of pain and it’s affecting me urinating. I’m so so so fed up. It’s always on my mind as the pain is always there.

Hey I’m sorry you’re suffering with lots of pain but unfortunately the waiting times are quite long. I was waiting 9 months for mine but I contacted PALS and they managed to get me seen sooner as I told them how badly I was struggling and it was affecting my mental health.
