Trying to get a diagnosis

Hi, I’m new here and honestly just feeling hopeless.

I am 23 and have a 4 year history of chronic pelvic pain, lower back and leg pain, heavy horrific periods and post-coital bleeding.

In 2015 I had transvaginal scans that showed blood to be present in my endometrial cavity and a laparoscopy the was clear aside from brown staining to the ligaments attached to my uterus.

I have moved around a lot over this period and so have found it really difficult to have a continuity of care and a solid diagnosis. I finally had a GP say she felt that I definitely had endometriosis and start me back on the depo injection. I then had a follow up appointment with another GP who then said no I don’t have endometriosis who then referred me to another gynaecologist. This resulted in me being completely bull-dozed and the gynae telling me that he did not think my symptoms were gynae related and most likely IBS (even though I have no bowel type symptoms) but also said it could be the depo causing the issue and that I should change to the mirena coil. Despite me saying that my symptoms were actually worse when not on the injection.

So I changed to the coil. It has been 8 months and I still have chronic pain to the point that I have to call in sick to work and take strong pain killers to help me sleep through the pain. Recently, I have had 3 weeks where the pain has got a lot sharper and more intense to the point that it’s just unmanageable as well has really thick, sticky blood stained discharge with blood clots in. I went to A&E during this under my GP’s instruction and the doctors there were helpful until they read the previous consultants notes and then started saying it wasn’t a gynaecological problem and that I should go back to my GP. I managed to get them to do a transvaginal scan which has now come back clear.

I am seeing my GP tomorrow and I am just at a loss as of what to do anymore. I’m in pain almost every day and I just can’t be bothered with this up hill battle anymore it’s exhausting. I’m sorry for such a long post but I just need some advice.

Thank you in advance and sorry again x

I really can empathise with you on this one. It's truly disturbing, seeing large clots come out. I also ended up in A&E after bleeding for over 8 days. I had tried everything, but nothing was working so had no choice. Do not wan't a re occurance so am hoping that the visit to the gynacologist might shed some light on the problem, my stomach swells up like a balloon most days. I have always had gut problems, but this has gone on for to long.
