I had my first laparoscopy on the 3rd Jan this year. I had a cyst and endometriosis removed along with my cervix cauterised to thicken the skin and remove a cervical ectropion (think that’s how you spell it!). I also had the mirena coil inserted.
Since then I’ve had constant heavy bleeding to the point I’ve nearly passed out several times. I’ve had barely any issues with my incisions and no gas issues at all! I was wondering how normal this amount of bleeding is? It’s another couple of weeks till my post op but it’s making me feel awful!

It would be best to see if you can book in and see your specialist, if not then see your GP but they may not know what's causing the bleeding.
After your lap even after removal of cervical ectropion it should only be spotting or like a light period for a few days. Sometimes though the lap can cause stress and so the uterus kind of makes the period come earlier or later.
Constant heavy bleeding could be a result of the coil; some women don't suit it. Side effects do include bleeding and doctors advice is wait about 6 months, which isn't helpful in your situation.
Hope you get your specialist appointment and sort out what's happening xx
Thank you so much! Yeah I wondered if it was a result of the cauterisation or the coil as it’s hard to know what’s causing it when you have a few bits done! Xx
