Adenomyosis?

I had a lap on Friday which found small amounts of endometriosis. However they found my womb was shaped like a globe, which has led them to believe I have Adenomyosis... does anyone else have it? Can anyone offer any advice?

Hi yes I have Adenomyosis. It causes me labour pains, very heavy periods which can last up to 2 weeks and flood through my clothes, low iron levels, hot flushes.

I was diagnosed via MRI scan, ultrasound didn’t show it up.

PM if you need to chat x

Interesting as I’m getting terrible hot flushes and have been for months now, it’s so bad I’m sweating and my lap wound isn’t healing! I wish they would just remove my womb because the pain is unbearable x

I don’t know. My op was Friday and I have to wait 6/8 weeks to see my dr again x

I have adenomyosis and endometriosis too- but I’ve not been given much info about it at all. From what I know, with adenomyosis, the only real option to “cure it” is a hysterectomy. Otherwise it’s hornonal treatment. My gynaecologist said it can sometimes cause irritable bowel symptoms but did say that I’m always going to have heavier periods and more pain than others, even after the removal of my endo. I’m just hoping the endo was the main cause of my pain and not the adeno- but it’s too soon to tell.

You’re not alone though at all. It’s a really frustrating condition and not spoken about much at all

Hi, I have both and was only recently diagnosed with adenomyosis. I wasn’t given much information just that the only way to cure it is to have a hysterectomy. At 35 and still praying for children this isn’t an option for me. There is not enough information around about this condition x
