Uni exams and period are going to clash 😫

Currently going through horrendous PMS symptoms and my first exam is on Monday.

Kinda freaking out as I can’t miss it but don’t want to be stuck in a exam hall for 2 hours in agony.

I don’t know where I’m going with this post haha just kinda of panicking right now

oh no :(

Have you been to your GP? If you explain your symptoms and how you'd feel about being in to take the exam he / she may issue a sick note to cover you for that time so that you are allowed to retake your exam later as it's classed as an extenuating circumstances. There's usually a health center linked to unis that you can go to while not at home.

If you just take the time off yourself and skip the exam you won't be allowed to retake. Just the same as if you struggled through it, unless you fail it then it'll be at the next available sitting.

There's often a person you can talk to in unis about these sorts of things; how your health may affect your studies and what the uni can do to help, may be look up your uni counselling service?

Hey, I haven’t thought about asking uni for help but I’m also not sure if I will start my period on time, it’s just I have really bad PMS symptoms atm

Speak to the support at Uni as a precaution if your period does start, stress really impacts on all symptoms for now try do what you can for stress relief.

Good Luck

Can you go to your pharmacy for progesterone to delay your period? Although that may cause unknown symptoms in itself.

I will prescribe you Co-Codamol for pain.Try not to overthink,it makes the condition worst.

Hi I have endo and work at a uni, at our university we have student support coordinators who can advise you, also get an emergency appointment with a GP who can confirm how your condition impacts on your ability to take an exam, with this you can then apply for mitigating circumstances (maybe called something else at your uni) this will allow you to take the exam at a later date.

It’s important you speak to the relevant people prior to the exam.

Good Luck

Long shot, but have you considered talking to your GP about taking norethisterone, it can delay your period which could help with the clash x

I tried norethisterone on holiday last year and it made me bleed non stop. I’ve left it too late to see my gp as the exam is Monday morning xx
