Are you taking regular NSAID's for pain relief? If so did you GP prescribe a PPI like omeprezole for stomach protection? I get crippling heartburn now if I don't take my PPI tablet at the start of the day and then take ibuprofen or mefenamic acid. They really are rough on your stomach and once its sore then acidic things like citrus fruits or tomatoes can aggravate it.
