Hi i had surgery for excision of endo 5 weeks ago...recovery was alot more difficult than ny previous lap..i had my 1st period which was horrendous yet expected...after my period i experienced 10 days of pain...just like i did pre surgery..then i developed the flu..and just as i was recovering i was rushed into hospital with suspected kidney stone...i had microscopic blood in urine and along wuth endo pain i had pain in both sides extending towards my back..but after an ultrasound kidney stones were ruled out and i was told to take a watch and wait approach... afew days later the scars in my belly button pussed up n my belly button started to leak fluid...got it checked by out of hours gp who said it wasn't infected as it'd been way past surgery and treated it as thrush..he mentioned if it comes back then it could be endo in the umbilicus...the cream helped ease the redness and now it's 3 days later along with the pain I've been enduring i started my period... at the same time the scars in my belly button have blown up and with the contraction like pain I'm getting im getting a pulling sensation under my belly button thats extending all over..has anyone experienced anything similar.. also after excision surgery is it normal for the pain to be still exactly the same as pre surgery

i would be very suspicious of it being an infection. i ended up with a hospital aquired bacterial infection which didnt become prominent for a few weeks after surgery. i ended up in hospital as my wound ended up gushing out with puss (literally like someone turned a tap on full) and i felt really unwell. it wasnt until they sent a sample of the puss off to be tested that they worked it out what it was. it really knocked my recovery back considerably. Trust your instincts.

Yes completely agree with dawntildusk, i had this a few weeks ago after my lap and went to A&E as I got a lot of pain in my stomach followed by green puss pouring out my belly button incision. I was put on antibiotics for a week to clear it up the infection. I had gone to my GP the day before I went to A&E who fobbed me off as it being nothing and gave me codeine for the pain (which i didnt take as it causes constipation which i already was severely). If your not feeling great & feel it could be an infection it might be worth going back to the docs to get antibiotics to clear it up.
