Hi everyone!

Yesterday after seing my gynae I was given a prescription for Gabapentin as a final option before as she put it "turning off my overies ".

She has said that she believes my endo has eaten away and or has grown within my muscles and nerves.

I just want to know if anyone else has been prescribed this or has taken it before. I would like to hear your experiences with it!

I am to take it 3 times a day. How bad was the dizziness or drowsiness for you and or what other symptoms, as well as the outcome?

Thanks on advance!

Abbey

Hey Abbey,

My mum took this to manage severe back pain before she had surgery to remove a cyst from her spine earlier this year. I’ll be complete tomorrow honest with you, she was very drowsy and knocked out most of the time, and struggled with every day tasks like filling out a car tax form/other life admin!

When I went home to visit her she had a massive pile of paperwork that she asked me to do for her - and normally she’s super on it with stuff like that. What dosage have they put you on? My mum was on the strongest dose of gabapentin (hence crazy side effects!) and also a high dose of amitryptiline.

Hope this helps a bit! X

Thank you for replying!

Yes the drowsiness was what my gynae mainly told me about.

I have been put on 300mg 3 times a day.

My mental capacity is already struggling due to everything enculding the fatigue I already have. I can already see this is going to be a nightmare...

Thanks again xxx

I am currently on gabapentin. My doctor wanted me to start slowly and build up the dose as needed to avoid side effects. I'm now on 700mg and don't seen to have side effects. I have been on it before, years ago and found that I was spacey on 900mg.

This time I have pain around my left ovary and it was getting worse and radiating down my leg and up my shoulder and back. The gabapentin has stopped the radiating pain but I still have pain around my ovary so I'm slowly increasing the dose.

I hope it helps with your pain.

Thank you!

I'm hoping that the side effect will take pity on me XD
