What happens after merina coil is removed?
I've just asked an almost identical question, your post didn't show up when I searched the tag... I'm getting nervous about my Mirena being removed. Hope you don't mind me following your post.
Of course you may follow my post ☺ I am really nervous too! I due to have it removed at 10.30 am tommorrow so i will update on how it goes and later of i have any different symptoms of that makes sense ☺ thanks for replying x
Hey just wanted to let you know i had the coil taken out on tuesday it was fine just had to cough a few times and theu pulled it out all o felt was like a little period cramp as it came out but apart from that was it was all good i have started bleeding today not sure of its a period or just some irregular bleeding after removal? We shall seeee ☺ the consultant i saw was very unhappy with my decision but i feel i know whats right for me at the moment after feeling rubbish for 8 months and i am taking a break from hormone treatment for a while she just advised she did not want it growing back and that will happen if i dont take a hormonal treatmet obviously i know that. Anyway she prescibed the mini pill for me i think i will try but i just want a little break for now hope i have put you at ease about the removal x
Thank you. I want mine out to try to conceive. Not sure if I can but nervous about having it removed and returning to previous state and collapsing. Fingers crossed it's as easy to remove as yours.
Hi! I had mine out recently and honestly, the speculum was the worst part. That hurt like it always does, but as for the actual coil removal I didn't feel I thing! I spotted for a bit but only about a day, which was a relief from bleeding almost constantly for the 9 months or so I had it in for. My symptoms got so much better, though I've stopped taking all hormonal medication to let my body "settle" a bit before we decide on any other treatments.
Thankyou very much for your help you were so right the speculum was the worst part and it was so straight forward i am glad its out and i was prescribed the mini pill as i cant take anything containg eostrogen as i suffer from migranes i will eventually try it but i just would like a break from hormones for a while ☺ thankyou again for your help x
Hey Victoria, good luck this morning. I also had one removed a couple of years ago after 7 months of having it in. I was so relieved gettint it out and felt a lot better not having those horrible side effects. The process of getting it out was really quick - quicker than gettint it in so bit too bad. I haven’t been on any birth control since and I am really sensitive to hormones so I just feel too awful on any pill it maybe worth a try as it could help you and you could always stop if it didn’t agree with you? Best of luck xx
Hiya thankyou so much for your help on this it went well and i am so glad i had it taken out x i have been prescribed the mini pill as i suffer from migranes with aura i cant take anything else with eostrogen in it but i am waiting a while until i try as i just feel i would like to have a break from hormones ☺ thankyou again for you lovely post xx
I’m due to get my coil out this week and been told by the doc that while it’s a little uncomfortable it’s much less painful than when it goes in - hopefully we have done the hard part
As for the pill - I can’t take it as like many women seem to be sensitive to it. It makes me really low and nauseous. Apparently it can take up to three months to settle but my advice after that would be to try something else if it’s not working for you by then - I tried to plough through and it wasn’t worth it to me. Most people find it really works for them though so hopefully it will be great I went to a nutritionist and actually found that made a huge impact to my symptoms so there are lots of options both hormonal and natural to help good luck
Hey thankyou very much for your help on this my removal went great and was ao much easier then i had thought, i have been prescribed the mini pill (the consultant was not happy i wanted it out) as i cant take anything with eostrogen in it as i have migranes with aura but i am going to give it a break for now anyway as i am fed up with hormonal treatment given what symtoms the mirena had given me the past 8 months i am glad i made the choice to have it out and i will be looking into diet and natural things too ☺ thankyou again for your comments and i hope things improve for you too xx
I felt so much better. The congestion in my stomach went immediately, and I felt I was breathing more deeply. The discharge went and....sorry to mention..............the smell!! I now smell sweet haha. I take Norgeston now but it means I have periods again : (
What mini pill did you try? Noirgeston is good mental health wise but.....just periods again!
