So i had mri scan yesterday morn and found out today that ive quite a big cyst.. cant remeber the size but i remember the look on the gyn face... so ive gotta have surgery but apparently ive gotta have open surgery because she said its too big go take out by key hole... but i thought they drain the cyst and cut it up to take it out..? Im petrified of surgery.. 😭😭😭

Cant offer much advice but my cyst is over 6cm and ure right, my consultant told me it wud be drained and then removed. Perhaps ask size etc and question her?

I had a laparoscopy for a 10 cm cyst but it really depends on many things. I suggest you ask for clarification as to why it needs to be a laparotomy. It could be because of the type of cyst or the size or other implications to the organs surrounding your cyst. Also have you done research on your consultant? Are they experienced enough?
