My hospital have offered just gas air for my hysteroscopy or sleep please can anyone say what they have done xx

I had mine done at the same time as my lap as they said it would be better that way as I'll be relaxed and won't feel anything (under general anaesthetic) so they can have a proper look.

I don't think I'd want it done under gas and air, or local anaesthetic, as they put the camera and instruments up the vagina, through the cervix and into the uterus to check the vaginal walls, cervix, uterus and tubes,, they can take biopsies too.

If it's under gas and air or local anaesthetic then it's considered an outpatients appointment and can be quicker. If it's general anaesthetic then it's kind of treated like an operation, so you will have a bed and stay in a few hours and need someone to collect you.
