I’m 2 weeks post laparoscopy. My stitches don’t seem to be dissolving externally. Is that normal?
They catch a bit on my clothes and wondered if I should cut them down? Or leave them?
Do they just drop out ?!
Any info would be fab! X x x xx
I had my lap on 10th September and my stitches have only just fell out and the stitches in my bellybutton are still there, the nurse said they can take months to fall out/dissolve x

Same with mine they are still visible two weeks post op but I think they do take some time to dissolve fully. : )
Two of my sets of stitches came out after 1 week and the third incision in my belly button took 4! Varies! They will come out eventually though!
I had my lap on 1st October and was told if the stitches hadn’t dissolved to have them removed by a nurse after 5-7 days. I had mine removed around day 9 as they were hurting me and got on much better once there were removed. The nurse did say she didn’t think they would’ve dissolved with the amount she had to remove.
Mine are in my bellybutton 😫 3 months post lap and still have them. The doctor said they can take up to 6 months so they won’t remove mine 🙄 xx
mine were ripped out at 'surgeons advice' after 1 week and was honestly almost as much pain as the surgery itself. I found another right in my bellybutton when I got home and decided to leave it, fell out on it's own 6 weeks later x
