Hormonal treatment or not? So confused! Please help!

Hey everyone! Was diagnosed last month with stage 1 endometriosis and PCOS. Had laparoscopy few weeks ago and endo removed from pelvis and appendix. My consultant has recommended cerazette but I'm really unsure what to do. He said if I don't take any medication then it will start to come back in about 2yrs. I don't really want to take medication due to the side effects. I have always been very unlucky with side effects!! I already have a stomach condition and chronic migraines which I take tablets for, I don't really want to have to take more and potentially make these conditions worse. Im really confused and don't know what to do. Will I make things x100 worse if just do nothing?

Hi

I'm no expert in any of this, I'm really just trying to research as much as I can so I can make a similar decision. But from what I'm reading, it seems that any hormonal treatment really will just manage symptoms and won't actually stop the disease progression. It's not a great position to be in really.

I was offered zoladex (chemical menopause) and the alternative to that was hysterectomy, I didn't want either so I've started looking into what else is out there. They're are actually loads of other medical and more natural treatment options. I'm just starting on a more natural approach. If your interested, there's a few books on it eg Wendy laidlaw healing endometriosis naturally and Dr John Lee what the drs don't tell you about peremenopause.

There are many more options than what general gynae's tell us.

X

Thanks for your reply. I definitely would prefer a more natural approach I think. I guess I don't have to rush into anything, just need to do some more research. The books you suggested sound good.

Hello, based on my personal experience I would stay well clear of anything hormonal and just let your body be. I highly recommend the book ‘Take Control of your Endometriosis’ by Henrietta Norton, which helps you to achieve a natural and holistic approach to managing your symptoms - it’s been life changing for me.

Best of luck with it all xxx

Thank you. I will have to have a look at this. I'm definitely thinking a more natural approach would be better.
