Have you been diagnosed with stage 3/4 endometriosis?
I think if it’s at stage 3/4 then you are entitled to be referred to a bsge centre through your go although they may not be aware of this. It took me a while to get it done but it was done and I’m now on a waiting list for a lap.
It will depend on the severity of your condition as to what treatment they offer and it’s all a personal choice.
Have a look at the NICE guidelines on endometriosis. Everyone using this forum should know about it. You should know your rights every time you see your GP so that they make the right referral decisions for you according to current guidelines. What your best specific options are will be discussed by a Gynaecologist or endo specialist eventually but the guidelines do include information about possible treatment. Also, endometriosis-UK.org is full of useful information.
This disease takes away your control over your life. Being informed gives you a bit of that back.
Hiya, you could ask your gyne to be referred to a specialist, that's what i did as i had been through 2 other general gynes and nothing they had suggested was helping.
The other way is to book a private consolation with a specialist (£400+) and then if they refer you for surgery ask to be put on the NHS for treatment.
Hiya, I'm okay i had a second lap with a specialist a couple of months ago that confirmed stage 3 endo which was a relief in some aspect that i wasn't going completely mental and imagining the pain. I'm still getting quite a bit of pain in my lower back and ovaries most days, how are you doing?
