What pain relief works?

I'm really struggling today and looking for advice. I went on the pill around 5 months ago and it helped with my constant pain. Rather than daily pain I only get pain for around 6 days a month but when I get it, it's excruciating!! Came on my period on Saturday and struggled through the weekend but today has been awful. I got sent home from work before lunch as I'm in agony. I've been balled up in bed, doubled over, taken codeine and attached to a hot water bottle but nothing is touching the pain. I'm actually shaking as I type this. I've got the type of cramps that aren't confined to my abdomin, they're in my back, hips and thighs. Feeling sick from the pain but haven't thrown up . . . yet! I'm going to make a docs appointment but feel they don't take me seriously. I need stronger pain meds but don't know what'll work. Any suggestions of pain meds that have worked got you greatly appreciated. I have a really understanding manager who lets me take time off if I'm really bad and knows its more than just normal period pain but I don't want to do this, I want to be able to cope with the pain whilst at work. Any advice? Thanks

Hi. I totally understand your pain. Ive found that the only tablets that works for me is Tramadol. I tried 30mg cocodomol but it made me so sick. My doctor refused to prescribe me tramadol as hes scared i'll get addicted. Lucky my friend gave me some to last until my laparoscopy on wednesday then they will give me tramadol. Hope this helps and you can try get access to some!

Have you tried Naproxen? It's the only thing that has had any effect on my pain, Codeiene did absolutely nothing for me! Hope you find something that works for you x
