Is it possible to naturally shrink an endometrioma?

Hi All, I have severe endo (with 2 large endometriomas) and I have decided to try to conceive prior to having a lap.

As I am obviously not taking any medications that could affect a pregnancy I wanted to find out if anyone has had any success with reducing an endometrioma naturally?

At present I have been following as much of the endo diet as possible but any other suggestions welcome x

Hi nikki not sure how much pain you are in and how big the endometriomas are. But i am currently in a similar situation. two obgyns - not endo specialists told me try to conceive. So that is what my husband and I are doing. only in the first month so far. however, while i try. i am going to speak to a specialist and truly assess my condition, and schedule surgery if necessary. all the tests they do take time as well. So i feel like im not just sitting around waiting to get pregnant but also trying to take care of my situation. I would get excision this time. Had ablation 5 years ago, for adhesions and an endometrioma excised as well.

Current endometrioma is 3cm, and im 27 now.

Also, I was doing some research, and it looks like some have been able to conceive and some endometriomas have even shrank. But it doesnt look like it always happens. it really depends. but like i said, go by how you feel, and your pain tolerance

Hiya, thanks for your response. I have been seen by a BSGE specialist and they have been really good. They gave me the option whether to operate now OR to try to conceive first and for me fertility is my priority. My endometriomas are really big though and I am scared of them increasing any further. Hopefully someone else may be able to let us know if they have managed to shrink theirs naturally x

Thanks for your response, that's really good to hear, and congratulations! I haven't been trying for very long, whilst my right one has shrunk a bit my left one is now 11cm! I really am hoping I can try and find a way to stop it growing or even better still shrink. Good to know pregnancy caused yours to shrink, fingers crossed I'll have the same luck xx

Hi Nicki17,

I know you wrote this 3 months ago, so this may not be relevant now. But, I've heard numerous accounts on different websites that some (but not all) people have had success with taking serrapeptase, nattokinase, something called wobenzyme (I think). I have a 7.4 cm endometrioma that I'm trying to shrink with the first two. I found out about these supplements largely from this group (and other places on the internet), so if you do a search here, you'll get more info. I wish you all the best and hope you are able to conceive, AND shrink your cyst.

Hi Dr Narwhal thanks for your message. I am still trying to shrink mine so your reply is very useful and I will definitely be looking into these. How long have you been using the first 2 and are you aware if there has been any shrinkage as of yet? Also have you had any side effects from taking them?

Thanks for this info - I currently have an endometrioma and I'm keen to see if this can be reduced naturally. There seems to be a lot of positive feedback on the Serrapeptose supplement so I went out and bought some yesterday. Fingers crossed!
