Can I ask for a copy of my surgical notes?

I had my first lap on Monday and was diagnosed with stage 3 endo, the surgeon did tell me what he found but I was still in recovery and can't remember anything he said other than it was moderate. Can I get in touch with my endo nurse and ask for a copy of my surgery notes? x

The joys of anaesthesia!

I had my gynaecologist come and talk to me when my hubby had popped out and I was so bad I imagined she said something she didn’t 😂😂😂 I laugh now but at the time it was awful ; fortunately I had a appointment with my fertility specialist a few days later so I could ask what happened😂😂😂

And they love to give you so much information like you are capable of taking it in 😂😂😂

I’d definitely contact the endo nurse they don’t mind ; the nurse should be able to give you a brief description of what happened. 👍

You should have a follow up appointment I’d imagine to discuss it further ?

I honestly don't remember anything and he was talking for ages 😂 I don't have a follow up appointment as I'm already on the waiting list for excision surgery and have my pre op on Wednesday, but would like to know what he found and where rather than waiting for the day of my surgery not knowing what's going to be removed xx

Try the endo nurse and the GP should also have a discharge summary.

Yes you can and it should be straight forward although you will need to fill in some paperwork first. Alternatively you can ask that you be sent a copy of the letter which is sent to the GP which should summarise everything there is to know. X

I've got a copy of the gp letter and it just says that I've been added to the waiting list for excision of endometriosis x

All it says on my discharge letter is I've been added to the waiting list for excision surgery, I was already with a specialist centre x
