2 1/2 years ago had the Mirena coil surgically removed. It had become imbedded in the muscle of the womb. Since then have had irregular periods. Prescribed the mini pill 6 months ago. Thankfully Cancer ruled out. Irregular menstrual bleeding has continued; past four months I've bled daily. Again thankfully the flow has reduced. Consultant offered two treatment options, a low dose combined pill but risks are high because of family history of stroke and heart disease or a new mirena coil!! At a loss regarding the decision to take as both have huge risks!! I've not been given a diagnosis for the irregular bleed, peri menopause and menopause ruled out with blood test. Requested time to make my decision, back to consultant in 3 months.
