Diagnosis mess. Told to have another MRI

Hi

I've posted a few times about the mess it's been for me so I'll try keep it brief. I've been sick for 4 years, the main issue is chronic fatigue which is disabling (I'm losing my job due to it) I had 2 years of all abdominal pain & swelling I'm unsure how this related to my cycle as I never tracked it that way (I always thought it was food related), a GP thought it could be endo & suggested I try the pill which quite immediately relived my symptoms and I've only had the abdominal issues a few times since. I was referred to gynae who were quite sure it wasn't endo but I had a lap and no endo was found so I stopped the pill. But I then started to have back & hip pain which became quite disabling and my fatigue continued. Fast forward 2 years and I had an mri through orthopaedics and I was told that I had severe endometriosis.

I then had a letter from the surgeon who did the lap saying he was getting an endo specialist radiologist to look over the mri. And yesterday I got another letter from him saying they've looked at it and now they want me to have another mri to have a more detailed look at my fibroids and possible endometriosis. (I was diagnosed with fibroids just before the lap by ultrasound). It's all getting rushed through, he's given me an appointment to see him beginning July and I've to get the mri before I see him him, so in the next 3 weeks.

I can't help but worry that something looks more sinister on the mri. I know people are totally riddled with endo and never get seen this quickly. I know the apt time for gynae is 6 months and mri 6 weeks so I'm jumping all these wait times.

Can anyone share any information about what they may be seeing in the mri and why I'd need another?

Thanks

From me seeing my gp to be referred to an endo specialist to my lap (which is on 18th june) it's only been about 7 weeks, I think some people are just more lucky with waiting times etc. I only had to wait 2 weeks for my specialist appointment after seeing my gp and I've heard this is very uncommon, it may just be that the surgeon wants to do his own mri as your last one wasn't for endometriosis and he needs a more accurate look x
