Smear test private?

Has anyone had a smear test done through private health care? If so, how much was it and which company did you go through?

I've been pushing for a year with my doctors to get one done but they will not budge!

If you go to your GP ask them to refer you to the colposcopy clinic. They still wont biopsy if you're not old enough but if they examine and have any concerns they will biopsy you.

I had my biopsy on Sept 2017. They found low risk pre cancerous cells. They tend to wait 6 months to see if they go on their own when they're low risk and the biopsy often removes them all too.

At my follow up in Feb 2018 they were still there so they did cold coagulation and zapped them away.

However - even after that - because I am 23 they will not smear me to make sure they are gone. Instead I have to wait until around August, go back the GP and ask to be referred again for another biopsy to double check.

I am not too concerned though because the bleeding that made me want to go in the first place reduced after the biopsy and stopped after the cold coagulation. Xx
