Is this pain "normal" after laparoscopy? (Endometriosis)

I had laparoscopy on the 10th April, it was exploratory to look for endometriosis. The surgeon found and removed it off my ovaries (Unsure on what stage I am) as well as cauterising a cervical ectropion.

Before the surgery, every month, 3-7 days before my period (like clockwork) I am hit with extreme sharp pain in the area of my ovaries. It kinda feels like my reproductive organs are trying to scratch their way out of my abdomen Alien style. (lol)

Anyway, my period is due around the 27th, and like clockwork the pain has started and the pain has doubled, and much much worse than normal. Has anyone else had the same experience? Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Yeah after my lap my first - 3rd period have been so much more intense from cramping to heaviness but it did actually regulate my cycles from 25 days to 28!

The pain / symptoms can be worse for a bit after your lap - my specialist explained it as our body can't tell the difference between removal of endo pain and endo pain, so we associate it with endo assuming it's not gone or it's worse. Your body can take up to four months to fully heal from op so expect some similar symptoms during that time.
