So from my last post you can see I’ve been bleeding for 24 days whilst taking the pill , I’m now on my period but something very strange happened. Sorry to be graphic but I just went to change my pad and it was like a huge lumpy bit of bloody discharge - I’ve NEVER experienced anything like it which is why I’m so worried. I’ve now been bleeding for 29 days .
Thankyou so much

Go to your gp!! Sounds like the lining of your womb is too thick and it causes long lasting bleeding and blood clots !!
That huge chunk is called a blood clot. Don’t mean to be graphic but how big was it ?
My mum found this she was 43, went to gp sent her for an emergency scan found that the lining of womb was too thick so a couple months later she had a commen sweep.
When you get a next clot put it in your hand and take a picture that way a doctor can genuinely see the size.
Long lasting bleeding is not normal please go to your to ask for an emergency scan.
It’s not anything’ serious but it can be very problematic because of the pain it causes you.
Thankyou so much , I got advised by 111 to go to the walk in centre but they tried telling me it was ‘normal’ so I’ve booked in. With my GP for Friday , hopefully something is done then. I’d also say the ‘clot’ was about 2 inches xx
Yep if your bleeding for a long time that’s not normal. 29 is too long regardless if its small amounts.
Could just be the lining of your womb is too thick, you need to see your gp as if it’s too thick it will affect your fertility. But it’s quite commen to have a s sweeo every now and now. But you need to get it all looked at
Thankyou again for all you advice , will defo mention it all to GP xxx
I had something similar happen when I was given the contraceptive injection years ago. My periods went the completely reverse of what I was normally. I bled for 3 weeks and was normal for one week. It made me very tired. I had clots and I felt very sick. My doctor advised me to not take contraceptive injections after that. My body just couldn't cope with this. I had tried various hormonal contraceptive pills before that and they also made me feel very ill. I've never taken contraceptive pills or injections since. My body rejected them.
The best thing to do is to talk to your GP. If they do not listen change doctor.
I take tranexmaic acid to help me for the first three days of my period. I have very large clots. The tranexmaic acid helps to break them down. But it does nothing for pelvic pain. The doctors will tell it does but I find essential oils work best for my body.
Try not to panic. Everyones body reacts differently.
Thankyou so much , it’s just a bit scary when it’s something completely different . I’ve been back and forth from the doctors with periods but nothing anything like this xxx
I understand. We all panic when strange things happen to our bodies. It's a natural fight or flight reaction. Take a deep breath and center yourself. You will have a clearer way of thinking when you see your doctor then. I use the 4-7-8 breathing technique. It a useful technique to learn as it helps to calm the panic feeling you get.
I hope all goes well with your doctor. I get a better response with my doctor if I calmly chat with him.
