will the lap be just a diagnostic? it may be worth if you're happy with the idea, asking if they can do a diagnostic lap, with removal of anything horrible they find and biopsies. Having it all done in one go makes it so much easier - don't need to wait for another op - my consultant was happy to do it all in one, some may not be though.
He said that if he finds superficial endo he will cut it out, but if its extensive he wont touch it and he will discuss options with me about surgery/treatment etc.

I had severe endo, they called it, which was all over my bladder, uterus and bowel, it was also sticking them all together. I did not have any perforating or deep so it was easy to remove and they unstuck everything. The bowel one needs a bowel surgeon so I still need that done, perhaps that's what they mean by discuss options as you may need other surgeons present.
Endo doesn't go away so if it's extensive the only real way to treat it is to remove what is there; hormones etc will do is slow down the growth - but that does give you time to think. I guess it means a longer stay in, and they wouldn't want that if you only signed and mentally prepared for a shorter stay.
