Hysterectomy

2 dpo and I feel awful never been in so much pain b4, stage 4 endo and severe adhesions removed, bicornurate uterus and to unstick my bladder from my stomach, Drs took 5hrs to complete it but it wasn't as straightforward as they hoped, my endo was in very vascular areas which caused lots of bleeding, also was in very tricky areas to reach, my anatomy wasn't normal either, my uterus was very broad and very different to a normal shaped uterus my cervix was also double the width of a normal sized 1, my tubes coming from my kidneys were very close together and my bladder had to be shaved, I'm home and trying to recover not easy done tho my temp keeps going up and my 2 youngest kids want mummies attention an cuddles

Hope everything starts to settle down/heal up soon. You have been through so much, this is hopefully the final hurdle. Amazing that they can do hysterectomy with keyhole now. Little ones don't really understand, mine wants reassurance when what I need is a huge cage around my abdomen! Not sure what we can do to prepare them. What painkillers are you allowed?

I've been told my op will be in May, hysterectomy incl ovaries/cervix and excision of stage 4 endo. Am so glad to get closer to a date but so scared as well.

Hey, they took my uterus fallopian tubes and cervix, I kept my ovaries as I didn't respond well to hormone treatment in past n I was given hrt aswell but I just went loopy on it and that was b4 I had my kids so I wldnt like it as a permanent option, my surgeon has told me that my endo will very likey be bk in the future, aw a cage sounds fab right now lol I was sent home with dehydrocodiene and paracetamol but I have my own pain meds at home oxycodone I don't think I wld have managed with out it I also have amitriptyline for at night again wld never have been able to sleep without it. I'm a very hands on person I very rarely sit down throughout the day always cleaning, playing with kids running errands, I finally park my butt about bk of 9 once 3 kids are bedded and everything sorted so this is torture for me I keep getting a telling off as I'm trying to fetch things for myself, think al do better tomorrow and stay put. hiya , i had hysterectomy with removal of cervix, tubes and ovaries 18 days ago now and trust me i know its hard but the most important thing at this moment in time is rest rest rest.... i started doing more and more over the last 3 or 4 days and now and now im getting aches and pains. rest when you can cos whilst your resting your body is healing, good luck in your healing and recovery xxx

Wow you have been through it!! Hope you can get help with your little ones and take care. I’ve got my date for my hysterectomy in June, my problem is with my bowel as my uterus is attached through then endo. I am hoping I don’t need a temporary bag attaching but they have told me it is possible. Hope you can keep your temp down and you get back on your feet very soon x

morning. How are you feeling today? You have been through alot and from someone very active to I know how frustrating it is to recover when you want to be doing things. I learnt the hard and after my first op was working etc in three weeks but within a month I was back in hospital. After my second surgery I behaved myself impeccably, lots of rest and doing things slowly and I had loads of craft/ games for our lo. After two weeks I felt so much better and after my six week check up I gradually introduced swimming, running and general stuff although do be careful with a hovering as that's the only time I got twinges.

it really is very frustrating when you are an active person but your body needs the time to heal and in the long run you'll feel the benefits and be able to get on with life 😊.
