Morning Nicole30. Is it a urologist recommending it, or gynae? I’ve had multiple stents to my ureter (the tube coming out of the kidney that drains the wee to the bladder) for endo. They can be replaced when they have reached the time limit, or can be removed earlier if needed. I found it only mildly helped with the pain but probably protected my kidney. Compared to everything else I’ve been through it was more an inconvenience than anything else.

Good luck.

Hi pinknickers, yes the urologist has recommended it but will also let the endo clinicknow as it will Just help my kidney from getting further damage and especially when I have hysterectomy. So the consultation went very well yesterday and after speaking to the team I do feel more confident when it is needed. I need to have a mac3 scan to see in more detail how kidney is as from ct scan yesterday it was the same as nov 17 but that scan/image is not as informative as a mac3. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. How are you at present xx💛

Hey, I had stents in both after surgery to remove endo from my bladder. For some reason the stent on my right was thicker. And was more painful on that side. I’m not going to lie I was in a lot of pain with mine but that may be due to the type of surgery I had. I had to have a catheter for 5 weeks and my urine was always very bloody. I would say if it’s s case of protecting your kidney you could always try the stent and if it causes you problems then they could remove it. I think my experience probably isn’t representative of what it’s normally like to have one. I hope that yours will be ok. I found that drinking lots of warm herbal tea and hot water bottles on my lower back helped. Best of luck and sorry you are having to go through this xxx

Ah no problem I know I was so worried about having mine. And I was scared of having it removed which wasn’t at all bad. I’m 2 months post surgery and feeling better than ever :) I really hope the stent helps you and you don’t have any issues :) xx
