Hi, I was diagnosed with endo in February and had the Coil fitted to help with this. I was wondering if the coil could get infected? And how would you know?
I am waiting to see the Gynaecologist because the strings for the coil are too long, and I haven’t been sexually active since it was inserted. Sorry if this is too much for anyone, thanks in advance.

I don't have any experience with the Mirena myself, but according to the NHS website, there is a very small chance of pelvic infections in the first 20 days after insertion. nhs.uk/conditions/contracep...
I think the key is to listen to your body and to consult your doctor if you think something is wrong. Hopefully you can see the gynaecologist soon, who should be able to address your concerns.
Hi, I went to my GP in the end because I was concerned. I do have an infection, and my coil has moved (they think this may have caused the infection). I am now on antibiotics, and have another appointment next Friday to move the coil back into position. Thanks for all your help xx
