Hey hun,

I did get really bad anxiety on Prostap, I felt like I was losing my mind and I was a completely different person when I was on the drug, yes I also got palpitations too. I've been off it now for nearly 6 months and even though my symptoms are back, the side effects from prostap have nearly gone now, just suffering still with the hair falling our and spots and hormonal changes really xx

Hi there thanx so much for responding.

Did you take hrt?

I'm on livial for a week now but it's not made any difference to my anxiety and Palps. I don't feel myself at all, it's really getting me down.

No worries lovely, just wanted you to know you're not alone in this battle💛 I didn't take hrt, I was on Prostap for 9 months but was in financial difficulty when I had it so could afford HRT.

See if things improve a little within the next few weeks, I felt very hormonal at times with prostap but most of the time it made me feel myself again, give it time hunni xx

Hi,

So sorry to hear that you are suffering!

I had both increased anxiety and heart palpitations on prostap so you are not alone.

I found that gentle exercise did help the heart palpitations and as for the anxiety well thats an ongoing battle for me but one that has gotten easier.

If they continue I would maybe go to speak to your GP for their advice? Xx

I aren't currently on HRT as I am recovering from a recent lap.

Generally I found when not on HRT the symptoms were worse but that the palpitations didnt last as long. Usually 10days or so.

Unfortunately the anxiety didnt really change. Xx

Hi, have you checked the non-active ingredients (of all meds you’re taking)? I got those symptoms whenever I had something that contained macrogol.

I’m also allergic to povidone, which causes breathlessness- again, another ‘inert’ filler, found in many paracetamols and other drugs

Maybe change the drug brand to a different recipe?

Hi Bodie

Hope you are feeling a bit better. I agree with another reply that it might be a combination of the medications that you are on.

But whatever the cause, please ask your GP for an ECG to be on the safe side. ❤️As you might know Leuprorelin (active ingredient in Prostap) can in rare cases cause some interference. But so can NSAID (ibuprofen, naproxen etc). Alternatively you may have an underlying cardiovascular issue which may surface when your body no longer produces estrogen (as you are now on Prostap). Estrogen is known to be 'cardioprotective'.

In any case, please go check. ❤️

Look after yourself, take care xx

Hi there I have been in prostap before and was ok on it. I didn't experience any of these symptoms. I would not think its the ingredients for this reason. I've had an ecg and this was fine. The only thing I can attribute the palps jelly legs an anxiety to is the prostap.. I think the symptoms were made worse by a work issue a few weeks ago but don't think it's to do with that. xx

Hiya

Yeah, Prostap has cardiorelated side effects listed (albeit rare).

I was on Prostap for 18 months and my blood pressure went sky high. But again Naproxen can also have cardiovascular, long-term side effects. As the longer I took either medication, the more likely either of them was to have an impact on my cardiovascular health.

Had to go on meds for seriously high blood pressure, then (as it happened) had scheduled hysterectomy. Approx 1.5yr after my hysterectomy blood pressure back down to normal. Yay 😉

(also down from six prescribed meds to two - 😊 - probably healthier for me in the long run).

Whatever is your experience, stay safe. Hope you find answers, help and support. Take care xx
