Just wondering if there is a link between endo and migraines? I have been under the care of a neurologist for 3 years but nothing is helping my migraines, so starting to wonder whether it could be related to endo, IF I have it? My referral to the gynae team is being processed by my doctor at the moment, thank goodness.

migraines and endo?
I'd be very keen to know too - I have endo and have also suffered from migraines since about the age of 12 or 13. All I know for sure is that the pill made my migraines 10x worse, which indicates to me that mine are mostly hormonal, which would also make sense in the case of endo too, but I just don't know for sure what the evidence is.
I had to take contraception (to help with endo symptoms) very seriously when weighing up my options, because I felt very stuck between a rock and a hard place just before my second lap. It was either have the lap, followed by no contraception (endo grows back) and have few-to-no migraines, or have contraception (helps endo symptoms/prevents it from growing back) and risk getting migraines. I had the Mirena coil fitted in November and so far no migraines (apparently it's the best when it comes to migraines), so fingers crossed it stays that way!
Good luck with your lap and hope you get the answers you need.
xx
I started with migraines just over a year ago before I was diagnosed with DIE. Had my Daith (inner ear) pierced which made a massive improvement for me. I went from 3 migraines a week, and not knowing my triggers to only getting a migraine when I eat cheese. Almost a year on from getting the piercing and I have had only 3 migraines (ate cheese by accident, or touched cheese product)
Hope this helps someone
ah I've heard about the daith piercing, glad it's made a difference for you - what is 'DIE' sorry? a type of endo? xx
I would also be interested to find out if there is a link. I've had hemiplegic migraines since I was 11 years old. They started shortly before my first period - coincidence or not? I also struggle with the pill and have never been able to take the it for longer than a year due to my migraines getting bad. I had the coil inserted a few weeks ago in my lap so I'm really nervous about what's going to happen. Diets really important, if I slip up I make myself really ill both migraines and endo.
Good luck, I hope you get the answers you're looking for 💛
Xx
thank you, sorry you hear you have hemiplegic migraines they sound just awful did you have the mirena put in? xx
