There was a thread about Endometriosis being classified as a disability and the poster had a petition posted.
The thread seems to have disappeared, as has my post on it. Is there any explanation as to why please?

Hi rosesinbloom,
Unfortunately the post promoting petition for endometriosis to be recognised as a disability had to be deleted. This is a complex issue and whilst we recognise that endometriosis can be extremely debilitating and disabling for some people, for many it is not, and people are able to manage their symptoms and carry out daily activities.
If endometriosis were automatically recognised as a disability, it may hinder womens' opportunities in the workplace and other areas of life.
Endometriosis may be recognised as a disability on the basis of a person's symptoms. As with most other long term health conditions, applications for disability welfare benefits and the like, are assessed against criteria for how a person's health condition impacts on their ability to carry out day to day activities.
We appreciate this may be disappointing to hear, but we hope you understand our position on this. For a full statement, please visit our website:

If I am honest, I don't like the fact the post was deleted due to disagreements about if it should be classed as a disability.
Surely those who suffer with it should be allowed the voice to say how they really feel. If the posts are deleted when people express their wanting it to be classed as a disability, then the women's voices are not being listened to.
Personally I don't see the problem with it, as I understand it, other conditions as disabilities are also varied and some people are much less affected, and at it's worst this is one of the worst conditions.
Yes, I don't like the deleting of the posts which open up the discussion on this.
Thank you for your views, we do understand it’s a contentious issue.
Best wishes,
