How long?

Hi everyone. Was just wondering how long the average waiting time is to have the op after the pre op assessment? Just trying to figure out what to tell work and plan my life a bit. Thanks.

Hello! My pre op was 10th of January and my operation is on March the 9th but the hospital I am going to is jammed packed. Also having another pre op the week before for my blood tests. It does vary depending where you live. You could maybe ring the hospital for an average waiting time? Good luck

I was thinking that it might be something like 6 weeks plus so I’ll guess I’ll just think that so I won’t be disappointed. Thanks for the reply. Good luck to you too 😃

I was told I'd be having my laparoscopy in March and haven't even had an appointment letter or pre op sent out yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's 6 weeks for a pre op so I still have time. The waiting around is annoying especially when trying to work out dates at work but I hope all goes well with your op

Hi Honey89,

I had my consultation last May and was put down for surgery. I am 7 days post op, I had to wait 8 months for my op and have 2 pre-op assessments. I guess it depends where you live.
