Can alcohol affect the mirena coil, pain wise?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I've had mirena coil for 5 months now, and i've noticed that whenever i have a night out drinking alcohol the next day i get really bad pains, i don't remember noticing this happening before I got the coil.

It maybe your bowel get inflammation and in turn the imflammation effects the whole pelvis. But the coil improves things generally? There's no complete fix. Many women can't even get on with the coil at all. So you're lucky. It might be worth keeping a diary of periods, ovulation, sugar, chocolate, icecream, alcohol amounts. See if you have dates where you have too much and your body can't deal with things to digest. Many woman find as the disease progresses that certain foods they can't digest or tolerate. x

hmm yeah i might try to keep a diary actually, it's just recently since having the coil i've started to notice the pattern. I had my 1st lap in july which came back as negative but yes i know there can be a link with certain foods etc and endo like you're saying, hence the 'endo diet' but apparently i don't even have it?! so seems strange and confusing!! X

Alcohol, like beer and wine, can flare your endo, so I would think that is the issue rather than alcohol affecting the coil. Part of the endo diet is cutting out alcohol. If you can’t, or don’t want to do that, try switching to spirits.

yeah i've heard that before and also just been mentioned above too, but i had my 1st lap in july which came back negative which was why the coil was put in to help my symptoms even though they didn't know the cause, and i've only noticed this happening since getting the coil because apparently i don't even have endo?! although i still feel convinced that i do as there's nothing else it could be :/ X
