Endo in the Bowels -Update

Hello,

A short update from my last post. I got referred back to the doctor to see about another laparoscopy or going to a pain clinic.

I was also told that in my notes (after asking about my big bulky wonky uterus)from my laparoscopy it said I had suspected Adenomyosis.

I'd been having a really crap few weeks. I'd been put on a hormone pill on top of the coil, they could only give me a month supply and it was weeks before I could get a doctors appointment so I ran out. Anyway, my actual period was a no show but still pain for even longer and such extreme tiredness. But likely my fault as I ran out of this pill.

I got to my appointment with the doctor and it seemed he hadn't read my notes. He skimmed them as I sat there, and told me my bowel problems had nothing to do with my endo , it probably is an actual bowel problem and was going to continue before I interrupted to say that I only have issues during my period.

He said no more surgery as my bowels showed clear 3 years ago at my lap, so there is nothing there. I also tried to explain about other pains and how tired I was. He just brushed it off. I Have to try the pill again for 3 months, on double the dose to stop my period. He also mentioned going to the pain clinic , has anyone been? So I'm trying to stay positive it helps.

But I got so upset in this appointment, I felt like it was 'this is just how it is' all over again. I was pretty much crying the whole time, it was in and out very quickly. I know these doctors are so busy but I just don't feel my issues were really being discussed.

Also on my form i had to hand to reception it said referred back to GP, no mention of anything else e.g said pain clinic.

I am saying my nurse again in the new year, I'm not sure what to say. Can I even ask to see another doctor?

Sorry again for such a long post. :(

Oh I’m so sorry you’re having such a hard time. I can sympathize with being brushed off and still have a lot of problems that will hopefully be solved with my next surgery. I’ve been being treated with pain medication in the mean time.. it’s horrible.

I’m pretty sure you can ask to see another doctor. I’ve gone to many different ones these past few months.

I hope you can get the help you need. Feel free to message me if you need to vent xx

So sorry to hear that. 3 years is a long time and you're obviously symptomatic again. Can you find another well regarded ( BSGE) Consultant and ask for a second opinion.

I've just been referred to a pain specialist after my surgery and am waiting on an appointment.

Chase it up via the secretary if it's been missed off your write up , it won't happen otherwise.

Good luck x

Thanks for the replies. I am going to give the Provera a proper go and discuss it again with my nurse when I next see her. Apparently I have not been referred to the pain clinic either.

Bummer.

Sorry to hear everyone else's situation too.

reallyfedup123 so sorry your daughter isn't been given the treatment she needs!

Thanks again, reading the forum does help, I at least feel more understood.
