MRI following lap

Morning all,

I had my lap 3 weeks ago, it was my second since diagnosis in Nov 2014. However, on the scans beforehand they noticed a nodule on my rectum and following the lap they are sending me for an MRI with contrast on my pelvic area... has anyone else had this before and do you know what they're looking for? They were very vague with me after the op, obviously they give you a run down of what they find just after you wake up so perhaps I am missing some information.

Additionally, they performed a dye test on my tubes and the prognosis in 25-50% chance, with my left fallopian tube completely blocked and the dye didn't pass through the right as they'd hope. Has anyone else had this and are still able to conceive? I'm thinking about freezing my eggs (I'm 32).

Yes, I also was told to have an MRI scan after a laparoscopy confirmed I have a 3cm recto-vaginal nodule in my Pouch of Douglas.

I think the MRI is to see whether or not the nodule is infiltrating the bowel wall.

In my case the MRI scan revealed scarring and as a result I had a sigmoidoscopy on Friday. During the test the doctor took some biopsies because she could clearly see 'mucosa broken and inflamed' indicating the appearance of endometrial tissue.

I think that the colo-rectal surgeons need this information before they perform surgery on the bowel so that they know what to expect...whether or not bowel resection will be necessary, etc.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about fallopian tubes, although I think it may well be a sensible precaution to have your eggs frozen, just in case.
