Cramping has anyone else had a similar experience?

Maybe TMI but my libido and intimacy has been 0! Ever since my LAP which was over a year ago... my partner has stood by me and been very patient as it's so difficult for me emotionally to deal. Anyway we had sex yesterday which was fine in itself and a long time over due. I had no pain during at all however, after I was in absolute agony and really cramped up. It's so demoralising. I can still feel the cramps this morning and am basically wondering if this is normal for people with Endo & PCOS. I swear that everything became worse after my LAP instead of it getting better :/

Hi Victoria,

Unfortunately pain during or after sex is a very common symptom of endometriosis, as I too experience it during and after sex. Through frustration my partner and I do several things to help ease the symptoms. Foreplay lasts up to an hour, this includes using an inflatable dildo to get my vagina use to the pressure - I grimace in pain at first but as I become aroused it is fine. We never have sex unless I am fully sexually aroused as it will be painful and we try to have sex several times a week so it doesn't become an issue I get anxious over due to the after-pain - the pain is very off-putting.

Additionally, my partner is very well-endowed (not a bad problem to have) but it does mean due to the endometriosis that it can be VERY painful so after doing lots of research we found a device that we call a 'doughnut' as it looks like one but it's called Come Close which takes approximately an inch off of his size and as he cannot penetrate as deep I have less pain during and after sex.

I've never had painless sex and I've been diagnosed with endo unfortunately its one of those symptoms luckily for me its the symptom that made me get diagnosed quicker 😮 I've only had cramps after sex a few times and bleeding once mine more during 😮 I think its one of those really bad symptoms of endo 😮
