I have end and adeno and am booked for a total hysterectomy on 22nd Dec. Foe the past 3 weeks I have felt totally exhausted, headache and upset stomach. Does anyone have any experience of having diaorhea with these conditions? I am finding it increasingly difficult to manage a full day at work. I don't k ow if I should go to GO and get signed off or just struggle through till 22nd. I can't wait for that day to come 😐

Pain due to adhesions was the symptom that took me to seek help and the investigations began. Diarrhoea and change in bowel habits was my first presenting symptoms of endo and it occurred for years but I put it down to sensitive stomach or undiagnosed IBS. I was referred to a gastroenterologist due to it. After so many tests it was put down to possibly IBS. Said my bowels was like the M25. Found out it was the endo causing it as particularly worse during period. I also get a lot of fatigue which is annoying as I feel people think lazy but I’m just always exhausted as I feel like I have to prove that i’m hardworking.
I found a change in diet totally helped with my bowels. I stayed away from caffeine as it causes me pain and flares. If I am craving tea or coffee and it’s decaf. I also barely have dairy except when I make desserts or bake or have the odd pasta dish with cheese. I found greasy food I cannot tolerate or anything fried. Certain beans I can’t eat like baked beans but kidney beans is fine. Have a look at your diet and see when the symptoms are worse and if you have had anything or at a certain point in your cycle.
I found multivitamins did help with the fatigue. Started taking wellwoman in summer and felt amazing. Throughout summer did not suffer from it. The fatigue is back now but not as bad as it was, I think the weather and cold i attribute to multivitamins not working as they used to. Listen to your body and don’t exhaust yourself.
Thanks for replying it sounds like you have had a tough time too.
I will look into my diet although I don't have much appetite at the moment. It would be hard to do half days at work as I work in a hospital so they would need to cover my remaining shift. I will see how I go and try to make it to 22nd
Are you doing the nursing shifts of 12hours cause if you are, wow. Cause I’m a hospital locum doing 9-5 at I did think of half days but that can’t work as no one to cover as you said. I hope you get your appetite back as not being able to help doesn’t help with the fatigue. Xx
I was diagnosed with adenmyosis last year and was feeling so drained i could have slept all day and night. I had a total hysterectomy in july this year and it was noticed my vitamin b12 levels were very low i underwent a course of injections 6 in 2 weeks im on them 3 monthly now for life and i feel a lot more alert and obviously pain free now after my op. Ask to get your levels checked. As for the diarrhoea i didnt experience that issue. Could it not be nerves or stress that's causing it?
Good luck with your op home in time for Christmas all i can recommend is lots of good books or films, peppermint tea and a triangle pillow. Dont do too much once you are feeling a bit better as it will set you back believe me as i did that.
