Waiting for diagnosis

Hello! I'm here for some advice. Dr suspects I have endometriosis. Have been sent to hospital twice since June with suspected appendicitis however docs now think my abdominal pain is endo. I've had ultrasound scan and ovaries etc look fine. However I've been told a scan can't always pick up endo.

Symptoms are like clockwork, I have terrible mid cycle pain that lasts for 4 days. Pain leading up to period and horrible PMT. Periods aren't always horrifically painful but are heavy and last a week. I also have IBS and have had these symptoms since 2010, however over the last few months I have started to notice that stomach issues do peak at certain times of the month.

It's starting to get me down now and have to wait until January until I see gynaecologist. Does anyone know what would most likely happen once seeing the gynaecologist? I'm reluctant to try the pill/coil as I've reacted badly to these in the past. Would they try hormones before doing a laparoscopy?

I work as a teacher and sometimes find the stress of the job combined with the stress of the symptoms a vicious circle!
