Quick background been diagnosed for about a year just been referred to a specialist endo clinic which is amazing, my boss has been so lovely I've cut work hours down he's been really supportive, however, obviously even with hours cut down I've had some unavoidable sick days 5 since August (my job is 12 hours shifts on your feet all day etc) my boss has been fine but a few staff members have not been. They've been heard saying she's cut her hours and she still rings in sick! My boss has informed me I can take it further by putting in an official grievance, what do you all think? Xxx

Work bullies
Hi Gemma
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with work bullies on top of coping with your condition...but you know what they say, 'sticks and stones....etc.'. If I were you, I'd try to rise above any nasty gossip going on...you don't need all the extra aggravation given that you're trying to cope with your health problems.
Would it be possible for your boss and HR/senior staff to call a meeting and sit down with everyone and just explain that bullying and spiteful gossiping isn't going to be tolerated in the workplace? Maybe it would be worth explaining to your colleagues at the same time the nature of endometriosis and how little understood it is, but how debilitating it can be?
Often by complaining about staff to higher authorities all you do is make them even more spiteful and nasty, which may lead to even greater upset.
Wishing you well and hoping you get the right treatment for your endometriosis very soon.
Hi Gemma, i am glad to hear you have a great boss, i do to.
It is hard to decide if want to make a grievance, it adds stress to a disease that reatcs to stress. Some people just dont mature and still act like they are at school and going to a higher power just makes them worse.
It is your decision, i could do the same at work but i cant face the stress of it all x
