Popping sensation in neck

Hi all, I've recently been getting a popping sensation in the neck when lying down, I suffer from chronic back pain and wondered if anyone had any advice. The back pain is high around t10 vertebrae. I'm yet to get a diagnosis and have lived with it for a very long time. It's now becoming unbearable. Past unsuccessful diagnosis over many years has lead to nothing but dead ends. Going back to the neck popping sensation, I'd be interested if anyone has any answers. Thanks for your time.
