I am 22 and since last September when I was flying back from Dominican Republic I suffered from severe pelvic pain, my stomach had blosted and I literally couldn't move I was in so much pain, it didn't help I was on a 8 hour flight! Anyway, I went straight to my doctor who told me it was constipation despite me saying I didn't think this was the case. The following day I went to my walk in center as I was still in a lot of pain, they gave me pain killers and I was then referred for blood tests, pregnancy test and an ultrasound over a few months. My periods had stopped which was also a problem, this pain has been ongoing and is really getting me down. I have been referred to a specialist consultant who advised me to come off the pill, this brought my periods back but still suffering with pelvic pain and bloating. I have since been to A&E as I was in tears in pain. Anyway I now have an appointment with my consultant again for blood tests and I have a Laparoscopy booked for the 6th of October as my consultant says there is a possibility of endometriosis. Sorry for the rant! I just want to hear from others with sinister situations, I am also very anxious about the op! X

So sorry to hear you have been having such a difficult time for the last year with the uncertainty of your condition. Many of our communities members can relate to this anxious time you are going through and I am sure you can see from the message board how common it often is to go a long time suffering, undiagnosed with endometriosis. You can read stories about this here: endometriosis-uk.org/gettin...
The average time is 7.5 years! My advice would be to keep reaching out and keep the conversations going with people around you so that we can all help reduce diagnosis time and get the answers we deserve.
I hope you get your answers asap and in the meantime get support from the people in your life and on this forum.
You may have already seen the Endo UK website which has a lot of information about Endometriosis and the different ways you can get support from the community, Additionally, there are events and challenges also created to help spread awareness. endometriosis-uk.org/events .
Hope that was slightly helpful and Im always happy to chat with when you need to.
Best,
Sinnead
Hey,
I've had a somewhat similar situation. I have many posts about it on my profile so feel free to take a look. I have posts with all of my questions and concerns with many helpful replies. I also have been updating daily with my healing process. I'm now day 8 post lap and I was terrified until I went under.. so I understand how scary it can be.
You can also message me if you have any specific questions I may be able to answer.
