Hi I just feel like I need to write a post as really struggling. Have always had painful periods etc my whole life (I am 46 yrs old) always been made to feel like I should just 'man up' and that I must have a low pain threshold. In Oct last year I was admitted with excruciating belly and back pain, they thought could be appendicitis, kidney or gall stones. It was none, my scan showed fluid in pelvis and cysts by my left ovary. Since then I have been having increasing abdo pains along with bowel problems, bloating etc etc. I had a lap and hystersoscopy on 24 Jul, when they found pus in my endo cavity, bilateral clubbing and Fallopian tubes stuck to ovarian fossa. Haemorrhagic cyst on left ovary also the hysteroscopy showed uterine cavity was inflamed with evidence of infection. The Cons said there was no endo. I rang gynae at end of the week and all swabs were clear showing no sign of infection. I have been told to continue metronidazole and doxycycline even though no infection was found. I am still sore and feel quite restricted moving from lap last week and am just concerned and very emotional right now as to what has been causing this pain and feeling that it is still there and the problem has not been solved. Gynae have not arranged follow up appt.
