Hi,

I have been suffering in pain for over a year. My GP thought the Mirena coil would fix the bleeding and pain - it didn't help. Got referred to gynae, started on Esmya. First 3 weeks of Esmya, my pain increases to point of barely sleeping and begging for more pain relief. Then it settled down for 2 weeks but flared up again last week- leading up to when I was due my period. I have several fibroids but haven't had a laproscopy to confirm anything else. Had an appointment today and Gynae wants me to continue taking the Esmya and stop at the end of next month for the break. My concern is that the pain will increase again to the debilitating level it was before. Justwondering of anyone else has been on Esmya and how it was when you stopped? I'm not due back at Gynae for 4 months and although I'm glad he's not pushing hysterectomy at me and wants to explore everything else first, I'm just fed up with the pain.

Hi

I have taken 2 courses of Esmya and am not in pain or heavy bleeding now. I was put on it because I have large fibroids so heavy bleeding and terrible pain when having a period. I have been told by my doctor that after the 3rd course of Esmya (which I start in 2 weeks) I will have a check to see if my fibroids have shrunk. God I hope they have as don't want to have a hysterectomy! But will have one if needed. Hang on in there!
