I have suffered endometrosis for some time on my right side I was taking magnesium tablets from Holland and Barrett and really helped but recently seems like it's flared back up any ideas on any pain relief for this as the pain is getting quite strong.

I take tramadol when it gets really bad, other than that naproxen. I also find that exercise can help sometimes, maybe it stretches it. Best wishes

Feel your pain:-( Not nice company at all. Try a hot water bottle or a heat pad. Codeine, ibuprofen are said to help too. Starstellar7 has good ideas as I have never tried tramadol myself or naproxen. Light exercise is good suggestion too but I know being in pain takes away any motivation to exercise. Wonder would Holland and Barrett offer any other remedies? Feel better soon.x

Hi i have exactly this pain in my right side and im currently on with a bowel surgeon who has some expertise in endometriosis issues as well. Ive had some adhesions in this right side divided but it doesnt seem to have helped really. Ive had a second opinion laparoscopy by him ( the nhs one forget it they said nothing there ) but this guy found them and also he found endo on back of my bladder which he removed ( again nhs said nothing there ). I had a hystorectomy on the basis of nhs advice and they still left the endo on the bladder which they said wasnt there and totally ignored the adhesions ( granted these may have formed after but still they wouldnt help me ). Anyway i had a colonoscopy yesterday and nothing inside so i guess its the adhesions on the bowel on the outside. Im hoping to have a discussion in a few weeks i clinic with my bowel surgeon as to what more can be done with these adhesions because they are very disabling even oxycodone doesnt really take the edge off. Its like when the poo goes through it it hurts even when i use lactulose which is a stool softner and go regularly. There is a slight benefit with using lactulose ( you can buy it over the counter its a sugar like solution that works on osmosis to draw fluid into your stools to mak ethem softer so maybe try this as well . BUt for me its not really a massive help but its a slight help and may help you. See if you can get the adhesions treated. Sometimes though it needs that part of the bowel removing which can be done even laparoscopically so not a bit scar and you dont have to have a bag on. It sometimes needs a bag after surgery but they can remove the bag and rejoin it in a further op so its possible. Get a good bowel surgeon possibly. Alternatively i dont know ow far down the line you are with this but sometimes it can just be endo in this area. An Mri or ultrasound wont show it so dont let them fob you off with this get a good knowlegable surgeon to do a laparoscopy and have a look see whats there and go from there. Maybe even try gonadatrophin agonists prostrap / zolodex see if that helps to diagnose it bt they only usually limit this to 6 months but it can help diagnose what is going on a bit - good look and feel free to pm me if you need any advice. Im not a doctor but ive had a long time dealing with this and sadly sometimes the medics try to fool you and play on our ignorance. Im currently taking legal action against my last surgeon for trying to trick me and pressure me basically cos they wanted to save money . Hugs c xxxx

Hi

I'm totally new to this group!

I agree with you taking diclofenac &paracetamol is normally a real winner for me.

I'm totally going through hell right now. I've had endo for about twenty years, I'm now 38... had soooooo many laparoscopy & removal of endo & then two years ago had a partial hysterectomy. The surgeon was a butcher & my bladder was torn 7cm- I had endo everywhere & all over my pouch of Douglas.

I'm now two years on still in agony, still suffering hideous bowel pain/fatigue/headaches/terrible right sided pain/pelivic pain..

I collapse on Friday night whilst out with my husband watching wonder women.

Rushed into A&E & then spent the weekend in the gynae ward. I'm home now feeling battered, lots of medications & waiting scans- possible chocolate cyst on the right ovary.

I am miserable... I need good support & long term help to regain a quality of life.

The consultant I saw yes today spoke of the prostrap injection- having my ovaries out will be highly dangerous now due to the volume of adhesions.

I don't know what to do for the best...

Please help ladies
