I have been refered to see a fertility specialist at my local hospital. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis stage 4 (stage 4 as i have bowel endo, although my surgeon says the endo is not horrific its the nodule causing the stage 4 diagnosis? Confusing i know 🙈). I am ovulating as my progesterone came back at 30, my tubes are clear and my hubbies test was normal.
I was just wondering what questions i should jot down to ask them? Where is best to start?
Thank you for your help

Your situation is very similar to mine, but it is quite a while since I had investigations done (2008).
These are questions for you really, but if you don't know them I'd find out. I'm sure people with more recent knowledge will be able to help more.
Have you had tests to determine your ovarian reserve? It's a test done on day two of your period and it's detecting FSH levels (if they still do it). My ovarian reserve was low, which, in addition to the endo, was preventing me from getting pregnant naturally.
Did they treat the endometriosis in any way (assuming you had a laparoscopy?)
Have you been given any ideas about next steps - have you to keep trying naturally, iui, ivf? Xxx
Thank you for your reply! I have had the blood tests done yes and they came back normal. FSH and LH so on.. they told me i am ovulating and the levels are normal in that department. However my left ovary is attached to the pelvic wall so this needs to be released. My right side is fine. Ive been told to wait for surgery and this will be our best chance of falling preg after. Ivf/iui or any medocation hasnt been mentioned yet not sure if thats what the fertity specialist will discuss. I have gone back on the pill while awaiting surgery to stop things from getting worse! X
just adding: i havent had any treatment yet was just a diagnosis lap and dye test.
My nurse told me to go on the mini pill ( cerelle ) as this is a progesterone only pill, but ive spoke to loads of women on the combined pill with endo, so i think its down to your body. I have spotted every day on cerelle but ive had no pain what so ever im taking it back to back. Also i looked at going back on microgyonon ( think the spelling is wrong lol) as i was on this before but it says to stop taking for an operation so i dont want to be in hosp with a period during my lap! So im going to stick with cerrle and hppe the spotting eases! X
Thank you Emma I've got a swollen tube and small hydrosalpinx too and got to decide if I want my tube removing on Thursday and I don't know what to do? X
Hi I have they same level as you and mine too is on the bowel . The main thing they will ask you is from a pain or fertility point of you. They won't deal with the two at the same time. It's important to decide what path you want to go down first . Ask time scales what they think is best remember it's your decision at the end of the day.
Thank you for your reply. My surgeon has asked me if i want just the reproductive organs seen to and to leave the nodule but he says this is 'under cooking me' so he sugests to do the whole surgery at once. Which i am happy for as ttc with this pain was so stressful! Would rather have it all cleared up and then start again
I had lap back in January 2015 remove adhesion from pouch of Douglas and Endo from my womb after this I got referred to fertility clinic and under went blood test to check I was ovulating it came back that I was and husband test came back clear to from my experience I was told to. Try for a year if didn't fall pregnant be put on list for ivf which wouldn't be funded on nhs as having a child already so I just decided to keep trying and did eventually fall naturally with secound child my advice is every clinic is different might leave you to try for a year did they say anything about putting you on waiting list for ivf or are they going to c if it happens naturally I wish you best of luck and keep my fingers crossed for you good luck xx
Thank you so much, thats given me some hope!! Im hoping thats what will happen for us. We have been told also that IVF is not funded in our postcode so will look at going private if we havent fallen after a year as i dont want it to grow back and be back to square one. Ive waited long enough for surgery! Did you do anything in particular to fall with endo? X
not really no just took folic acid and timed intercourse when I knew that I was going to be fertile had to try work it round my husband working hours xx
the hospital gave me a early scan as getting alot of pain but everything ok doctor said that Endo pain usually settles down after 3 months just hope that it happens naturally for you to lots of baby dust for you xx
