Hi soph I'm currently on esa but I have a assessment this week too. With My first one everything went well and it was successful but I'm dreading it this time. I left my job 3 years as I'm unfit to work due to my underlying condition

Make sure you take someone with you. They start observing you from the car park right up to reception while you are waiting there. I heard it's changed now and they might make you walk around or do basic things like lifting your leg or arms. They won't do it if it causes you extreme pain.

Please let me know how it goes. I have mine on Wednesday. So scared.

Thank you for you help. I'm dreading it as I don't know what I'm going to do if they say I have to work. Iv literally just woke up from a 4 hour sleep because I'm that exhausted! Let me know how you get on as mine is the day after yours. I hope it goes ok thanks again xx

Hi. if you can't sit for long get up and move around it shows you can't sit for 20 mins so a job would be difficult. Google it as there is some info that canhelp you understand the descriptors they use. Always answer the question explaining how your symptoms affect how you can do things like complete tasks. They will try to trick you. If they ask if you read or watch TV be careful how you answer if you watch soaps it means you can follow complex story lines. If you have a mobile they will interpret that you can socialise and chat with friends unless you tell them it's for emergencies only so your family can keep tabs on you and make sure you are OK. You need to be honest but always explain how it affects your day to day life. Hope thishelps.x
