Acupuncture for treatment of endometriosis. Has anyone had it?

I was diagnosed with endometriosis 5 months ago after trying to conceive for over a year. I did conceive once but miscarried. I had a scan before the op that revealed a 2 cm cyst. I had acupuncture after the scan and before the laporsopy. when I had the surgery the cyst had gone, completely! Totally impressed with acupuncture I have continued the treatment. The only thing is that my symptoms now seem a million times worse than before the op! I had a two day period that felt as bad and painful as the miscarriage, where I was just bleeding bright red blood continuously and also have just spent 4 days in agony similar to labour pains as I was ovulating. Same kind of ovulation pain I had before the op just 4 times as bad (at least!) Is anyone else experiencing this or been through It with acupuncture? I think it's all part of the process and "it needs to get worse to get better" but I just don't know for sure. Any help, or experience gratefully received x

Sometimes cysts come and go, it happened to me lots of time where the cyst showed up on scan and the next one I had cyst was gone. It may well be the acupuncture though :-) If it is, great. I've had lots of acupuncture for my endo, but it didn't really work (for the pain). It did however change things. One time I wasn't having any periods and then each time I had the acupuncture (every 2 weeks) I would get a period a couple of days later! So although it brought back my periods, I wasn't really too happy with having them more often, as you can imagine. My acupunturist was really knowledgeable and she did everything she could, using heat machines, and tens machine, helping me with dietary changes, homeopathy. But nothing really changed for me until I had excision surgery. I had to travel to the UK and it took about 6 hours in surgery (laparoscopic). My surgeon was brilliant (in Leeds) and I've never regretted it. My health insurance paid but I think it's also available under the NHS. Good luck with the acupuncture. I'm not so sure about it needing to get worse before getting better, but I suppose time will tell.

thank you, that's really helpful. I have already had the surgery, and had my periods before. They just feel so much worse now! I'm going to stick with it though for a while at least as it may be my only chance to get pregnant. I wish I had knew what was the best!
