Hi did anyone get given exercises after there hysterectomy if so what are they as I am 2 weeks out of hospital and I was not given anything and I was told by friends how important it is to keep doing them thank you

I haven't had a hyst but from my understanding I believe it's for the pelvic floor since you no longer have a uterus but still have a vagina where your bowel and bladder can 'fall' into if your muscles are weak. Also after hysterectomy most women purchase vaginal dilators.

Do you have a pelvic floor physiotherapist in your area? They may be able to help you train these muscles.

I had a hysterectomy last Tuesday. How are you getting on? I've found lots of really useful info on the Hystersisters site. It's very 'American' but really informative. Hope you're healing well. X

Hi. The Uk version of the website is called hysterectomy association. Really useful info and tips there.

You do need to do pelvic floorexercises. I wasn't given any when I left hospital after hyster but there are some on above website and many are recommended on line. Any good Physio should be able to help.
